How can I help?

Picture

Let's face it, looking for a therapist sucks!

At the very moment when you're feeling overwhelmed with anxiety, sadness, grief, heartbreak, depression, career, kids, relationships or whatever else is causing you trouble, you're supposed to take on the task of finding someone to help? That's messed up!

And how do you go about it? Yelp? Google? Referrals from friends or your insurance company? At least half of the therapists you call don't call back. And even if they do, what are you supposed to be asking? How do you know whom to choose?

I'm here to help.
Therapy Style
I have been helping people heal, learn, and grow for more than 20 years. My greatest gift as a therapist is my well-founded optimism. I know that no matter how bad things may currently seem, my clients can overcome obstacles, process pain, and move on to happier, healthier, more purposeful lives. I believe that all people have an innate capacity to grow into their authentic selves; they simply need the right conditions.

Think of a plant; no one has to tell a struggling plant how to grow. It just needs the right conditions. With the right soil, water, and sun any plant can flourish. It's the same with people. In order to thrive, people just need a genuine, positive relationship with someone who can empathize.

As a client-centered therapist, it is my honor to provide a healthy and healing environment in which you can grow.
I will partner with you to set your personal goals for therapy. Together, utilizing research-based treatments, we will work to achieve those goals. I see myself as an expert on change, while you are the expert of your own life!

My areas of expertise include:
  • Adults abused as children
  • Anxiety
  • Attachment
  • Career
  • Creativity
  • Dating
  • Depression
  • Dissociative Disorders
  • Grief
  • Infertility
  • LGBTQ+
  • Life Transitions (e.g., turning 30, mid-life, empty nest, later life)
  • Parenting
  • Relationships
  • Trauma, including PTSD
